Meet our Rector- Father Antony Dutton

Father Antony joined us in November 2024 when he became the vicar at St Mary’s Church, Handbridge. There was a rigorous process he had to go through to become the Vicar at St Mary’s, including being interviewed by our Ethos group!
Father Antony stated that the hardest question of the day had been from one of our children – “can you tell us a good joke?”

Father Antony is an active member of our school community. Every Tuesday, Father Antony leads our collective worship in school.

Here's what the children have to say:

I like Father Antony when he leads Worship. They’re really good because he’s enthusiastic and really funny. I like to listen to them. He makes us smile. (Y3 child)

Father Antony is really enthusiastic in Worship. He uses humour which helps me understand. You can tell he has passion about what he is saying and I feel energised and ready for my learning after his Worship. (Y6 Child)

Father Antony opens the door to understanding things in a different light. He’s got a way of explaining things really clearly. (Teacher)

He is also one of our school Governors helping to make good decisions about and for our school. Father Antony loves to welcome lots of our families to St Mary’s Church for services on Sunday.
